And don’t forget ‘Texture Tuesdays‘ where you get a FREE texture each week! And don’t forget to check out the Pink Ink Studios store, there’s so many digital items there you absolutely NEED if you’re doing photo editing, albums, etc. and want your clients’ images to be really unique! On the texture theme, if you’re looking for free textures you don’t want to miss out on BittBox or Lost And Taken. Textures are super HOT right now to add to your photos!
For some awesome texture/photoshop inspiration don’t forget to check out Rosie’s blog HERE or Laura’s blog HERE.
On the photography/studio theme, Tracy Joy has a new blog out….Prop Insanity. The blog has just started but I’ve certainly added this one to my google reader so I don’t miss a post. Great ideas on props you can use in your photography business.
If you’re looking for Lightroom Presets, don’t forget to check out one of my most popular blog posts listing all of the free presets found around the internet HERE.
And I just wanted to leave you with this textured image I created this week using one of my photos:

My husband and I were planning on checking out the Ren Fest this past weekend but he came down with that same cold/flu bug that has been going around so he stayed home (we plan to go see it in a couple weeks). But….I was able to go to Butterfly World this past Sunday instead. I love that place. It’s approx. 2 hours from my house but so worth the trip! This was my second time going and this time…I bought the yearly pass because I WILL be back again. If you’re in south Florida, love photography, it’s definitely something you will want to see.
Here’s a few pictures:

And the really interesting thing about the large butterfly above is the camo on his wings…it actually looks like a snake’s head…see below:

Then I headed up to Green Cay Wetlands and checked that place out. Several of my Flickr contacts had been there so I figured since I was in the area…might as well see it. And I was able to check a few birds off of my ‘to do’ list that I haven’t photographed before (mottled duck, blue winged teal, etc who inhabit the wildlife management areas where I live in the boondocks but they are really shy and hard to get close to…these ‘city’ birds didn’t mind one bit at Green Cay when there’s a bunch of people around). What a really beautiful and well kept place. There’s a huge visitor’s center and a one and a half mile boardwalk. It felt kinda neat to be in the middle of the city and be in this really pretty natural preserve.

And this one…was just too funny not to pass up. I’ve got a lot of images of turtles and anhinga birds but nothing like this…looks like class is in session!

Hope everyone has a great week and an awesome Valentine’s Day this weekend! Hubby and I plan to spend the day together, maybe over on Sanibel Island, maybe eat at Doc Ford’s…and do some chilling on the beach with a cold beverage. Then Sunday I’m headed to Epcot (2 hour drive from my house) for the weekend to meet my family up there. They’re coming down from the frosty north to spend a week here in the Sunshine State and defrost
One of my friends turned me on to this really cute program from Polaroid called The poladroid. You just download and install the program and then create your own polaroids. Find it here: http://www.poladroid.net/
The photo I’m showing I created using a texture background and arranged a variety of polaroids I made with the program on it, and added some drop shadows for realism.
To see what other people do with the program you can check out the be Poladroid ! group on flickr here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/poladroid/
