a few favorite freebies

There’s a million free photoshop actions out there and it’s hard to sort through them all to find the good ones.  Here’s a few gems that I love and use quite often!

MCP High Definition Sharpening – I mostly use the ‘resize for web’ action in this pack (there is a regular sharpen action in here as well that keeps your photos at full size), makes it quick and easy to resize images before I upload them to flickr.  This action does a great job and I use it all of the time.  Be sure to add her blog to your google reader and check out her flickr group.

Another great sharpening action to try is Gavin Seim’s Virtual Razor.

Pioneer Woman Actions – Ree has two sets up on her site.  Set 1 and Set 2.  Both are great and create some really nice effects for your photos (check out her flickr group).  Be sure to add her blog to your google reader too, she’s amazing and I know you’ll love her.

Coffee Shop – this blog will keep you busy for hours.  She’s got tons of quality free actions and other goodies.   One of my personal favorites of hers is Attic Vintage.  An easy way to add textures to your photos.

One big question on everyone’s mind is how to add their logo or name to their photos before uploading to flickr.  I found this really great little action that adds a frame AND you can enter in the image’s title and your name or website as well.  ~chain on Deviant Art created this one and you can find it here.

Hope these actions help you!
