May 23rd is World Turtle Day!

The purpose of World Turtle Day, May 23, sponsored yearly since 2000 by American Tortoise Rescue, is to bring attention to, and increase knowledge of and respect for, turtles and tortoises, and encourage human action to help them survive and thrive.

We’re coming up on the last two launches of the Space Shuttle.  I won’t be able to make it to any of the launches, but I wanted to share some photos from the one launch I did see in 2008.

We had a small wildlife photography meet up this past Saturday, and we all had a blast!  Then on Sunday I got to shoot the wonderful Marni and Chris and their dogs again…but this time in the studio.  I’ll post the studio shots soon.
