Even though I had a cold (still do actually), we had a great time in the studio this past weekend doing two different sessions.  I must say…before we get to the photos, I’ve got to give a huge shout out to the BEST photographer’s assistant in the word…my husband.   From adjusting props, making silly noises and faces, wearing some of the props (even arranging a phone call from Santa to our little five year old subject), to just being an all around amazing guy… he did it all!    And can you believe that tomorrow he and I will have been married 13 years!  Yes!  I just want to say to him, Happy Anniversary baby, I love you!

Here’s some shots of my husband in action:

No, that’s not a giant attacking the set, that’s him adjusting some props for the baby:

Here he is again, adding more props:

And, he doesn’t normally like his photo taken, but he did take one with his mom and his little niece!

Ok, and now to the photos from the two sessions!

Yesterday we had two shoots in the studio and I just wanted to share a sneak peek of Rhyan Elizabeth…this beautiful baby just so happens to be one of my nieces!

Rhyan Elizabeth

Since I was a baby, I’ve been around classic cars.  In fact, my first outing in my baby book that my mom kept was to a car show.  My dad has always owned classic cars, Fords to be exact.  I remember being around 3 years old and going with my dad to pick up a 1957 T-Bird he had purchased, which he still owns to this day.  Right now, he’s working on a Hot Rod.  I took a few pictures for him the other day and have finally had time to start working on them.  I wanted to try something a little different and did one of the photos with textures.  I kind of like the effect.

Although, I think this car would look good even photographed in a walmart parking lot with a point and shoot!  I did shoot this at f/13 because the light was hitting the car in two places and I wanted the sunburts to show up (on the door and the headlight)…so I was able to add a depth of field blur in photoshop so that not every single thing was in focus around the car, so it just pops out at you.

Hot Rod

I do like the hot rod, but my favorite car of his is the 1966 Hertz Shelby (also known as ‘rent-a-racer’, in the 60’s you could actually rent these cars from Hertz.  Recently Hertz did come out with a newer version, but c’mon…nothing is like the original!).  How can you not love this muscle car?

And, one year for Christmas we were able to find an autographed glove box door for my dad’s car, autographed by the man himself, Carroll Shelby.

Then…one year, just for a weekend we rented the NEW Hertz Shelby for him. Of course, we did have to take a side by side shot of the two cars together…

Ahhh…muscle cars…..they don’t make them like they used to!

When I got to Dania Beach for the maternity session I was going to shoot, I couldn’t believe how many people were there!

I guess I’d forgotten it was that ’snowbird time of year again’ and it wasn’t a terribly hot day so everyone was at the beach,

I don’t blame them, it was a perfect day for it.

Behind The Scenes :)

We did luck out, because no one is allowed to swim under the pier and that’s where I really wanted to shoot this couple!

I love how in the photos it looks like they are the only two on the beach.

I wanted a few ‘behind the scenes shots’, so my dad had my old Canon XTi and shot a few for me!

What a fun couple, we had a great time!
