Meet the newest member of our family, Earl!
He’s a 5 1/2 month old Great Dane puppy

This is the third Great Dane we’ve owned. I love these dogs and this breed, they’re just amazing! Earl is doing great…so far he’s understanding ‘no’, ‘leave it’ and ‘drop it’….and we’ve only had him 24 hours!
He should top out at around 32″ tall (at the shoulders) and 165 pounds. Which should be about the same size as our male Gunther, who we had to put to sleep this past summer. I miss Gunther terribly, but Earl is so much like Gunther…it’s like having him back
Earl is also getting along wonderfully with our 9 year old female Great Dane, Duchess. I think she did enjoy being an only dog for awhile, but I’m realizing now she did miss having a buddy. Not to mention I missed having two dogs around as well
I get quite a few questions about Canon lenses… which one to get, if I like it, how the photos come out, etc.
One of the websites I ALWAYS recommend is Photography On The Net. It’s an all Canon forum (sorry Nikon peeps, I’m
not sure what forum is out there for Nikon).
The BEST part of that website is the Lens Sample Image Archive, specifically the Main List With Links topic.
You must first create an account (it’s free) and log in to be able to view any photos in the posts.
Say you’re thinking about buying the 100-400mm f4/5.6 USM IS L lens. You’ve googled it, you’ve read the review sites, but you’re not happy with the sample photos you’re coming across online. All you’d need to do is head into this post HERE
to view photos taken by all types of photographers from all skill levels with that exact lens. Personally, I like to view photos taken by pros
AND the everyday hobbyist, it gives me a better idea of what this lens can do straight out of the box and also what it
can do if you’re more experienced.
All of the Canon lenses and lenses for Canon (Sigma, Tamron, etc.) are listed on that Main List With Links post….so get to reading, look up any lenses you’re thinking of purchasing, and have fun
Nikon and Canon playing together…..
